What happens, and when

Six stages. You know what you are paying for at each one before it starts.

Six stages

From the first call to handover

01

Discovery call

Twenty minutes on the phone and it costs nothing. We work out whether the job suits us, roughly what it involves and what it is likely to cost, before anyone books a paid visit.

02

Measure & Spec visit

We come out, measure every surface, check the substrate and moisture, agree the finish and tone, and give you a fixed price. $500 for microcement or a single bath; $1,500 to $2,500 for MCM, windows or multi-trade work. Credited toward the project either way.

03

Schedule

You get a start date and a day count before anything is ordered. On multi-trade work, Design & Feasibility runs at this stage and produces drawings and a finish specification.

04

Preparation

Substrate leveled and repaired, cracks treated, primer applied. Most finish failures trace back to this stage, so it is not the one we rush.

05

Application

Coat by coat with drying time between layers, by our own crew, with the site protected and dust controlled.

06

Cure and hand back

Top coat, cure, walkthrough and written care instructions. Allow about a week after the final coat before heavy use.

Kitchens, cabinetry, windows and custom MCM

Order first, demolish second

Custom materials take about eight weeks to arrive. Nothing gets torn out until every piece is here and checked, so you live in your house until install day.

What we will tell you up front

The uncomfortable parts

Hand-applied finishes carry variation. Color and movement will not be identical from panel to panel, because it is troweled rather than printed. That is the look. If you want a perfectly uniform surface, you want tile, and we will say so.

Drying time is not negotiable. Coats need twelve to twenty-four hours between them and the finished surface needs about a week before heavy use. A rushed schedule shows up in the floor.

What is underneath decides a lot. Movement, moisture or cracking in the substrate will telegraph through. That is what the Measure and Spec visit is for, and occasionally it is where we tell you the answer is no.
