Microcement Showers in Scottsdale & Paradise Valley
Walls and pan in one continuous surface. No grout lines to scrub, stain or crack.
A shower with nothing to scrub
Tile showers fail at the grout first. It stains, it cracks where the wall meets the pan, and it's the part people scrub on Saturday mornings. A microcement shower has no grout lines. The walls and the pan run as one surface, sealed with a two-component top coat.
It goes on by hand in thin coats, applied by our own crew, so the finish reads as one plane from the ceiling down to the drain. You can see it in the bath at 6001 E Naumann Drive, below.
- Shower walls, pans and wet-room floors
- Two-component top coat on every wet surface
- Fiber mesh in the base coats to resist cracking
- Goes over sound existing tile in many showers, so there's often no tear-out
- Eighteen standard tones, in coarse or fine texture, matte throughout
- About a week of cure before the shower goes back into use
A standard walk-in shower, walls and pan, runs $6,500 to $9,500 installed. Full ranges are on the pricing page.

Questions we get
Before you call
Is microcement waterproof?
The two-component top coat seals the microcement against water, and it goes on every wet surface. What keeps water out of the wall behind it is the same as with tile: a sound, waterproofed substrate. We check that at the Measure & Spec visit before anything goes on.
Can microcement go over my existing shower tile?
Usually yes. The tile gets roughened and primed so the microcement keys to it, then the coats go on over the top. No demolition and no dumpster. If the tile bed is already drumming or lifting, it has to come off first, and we confirm that at the visit.
How long is the shower out of use?
Several days of application, with drying time between coats, then about a week before it gets wet. You get the day count at the Measure & Spec visit.
How do I clean it?
A soft cloth and a mild, pH-neutral cleaner. No abrasive pads. Full care instructions come with handover.
Who does the work?
Our own crew, never a subcontractor. On a hand-applied finish, that's the difference between a wall that reads as one plane and one that shows every trowel lap.
